Find the following fractions in the spooky scene and express each in simplest form. Record your work and answers on our answer sheet.

What fraction of the zombies are female?
Ghosts represent what fraction of all the monsters in the spooky scene?
A fraction is a way to describe parts of a whole, group, or set. It is made up of two numbers: a numerator and a denominator divided by a horizontal line.
If the numerator or denominator share a common factor, you can simplify the fraction by finding the greatest common factor (GCF).
Factors of 5: 1, 5
Factors of 10: 1, 2, 5, 10
Divide both the numerator and denominator by the GCF to rewrite the fraction.
So 5/10 = 1/2 in simplest form.
