Sam Cox—aka Mr. Doodle—covered his whole house in squiggles.
What if you could live inside your doodles? That’s what Sam Cox—who goes by Mr. Doodle—is doing. He’s a British artist famous for his doodle-style drawings, and he just covered his entire house in black-and-white art!
Mr. Doodle used 401 cans of black spray paint, 2,296 pens, 238 gallons of white paint, and 286 containers of black paint. It took him almost two full years to cover his house inside and out! His first step was painting the entire house white. Then he added the black doodles. Now everything from his front door to his bathtub is covered in squiggly designs!
Mr. Doodle used 238 gallons of white paint to cover his whole house—inside and out. Each gallon of paint covers about 400 square feet. How many square feet did he cover with white paint? Record your work and answer on our Numbers in the News answer sheet.
